Creative Upcycling & Beginner Machine Sewing
Give your online shopping waste a second life. We all have them - the durable poly mailers from our latest online purchases that seem too sturdy to just throw away.

At The Interchange, we view these as a high-potential material for functional accessories. Join us for a 60-minute curated sewing experience where we transform "single-use" packaging into a sleek, water-resistant cardholder.

This is an introduction to creative upcycling. Designed specifically for absolute beginners in Singapore, this session focuses on the unique logic of sewing non-fabric materials. You’ll work with high-quality computerized sewing machines and receive guided instruction to create a practical, minimalist piece with a clean finish.

The Project: The Minimalist Cardholder
You will construct a slim, durable cardholder, a perfect holder for your EZ-Link, credit cards, or folded cash. The result is a lightweight, one-of-a-kind accessory that celebrates the unique textures and prints of modern packaging.

What You’ll Experience:
•  Computerized Machine Basics: Get comfortable using modern sewing machines, focusing on speed control and smooth handling.
•  Essential Stitching: Learn the fundamental straight stitch and "backstitch" techniques to ensure your cardholder is secure and durable.
•  Material Handling: Discover the specific tips for folding and sewing poly mailers - a material that behaves differently than traditional fabric.
•  Precision Construction: Use our templates to ensure your final product has sharp lines and functional proportions.

Preparation & Materials
What to Bring: * 1 × A4 (or larger) Poly Mailer: Please ensure it is clean and dry.

•  Curated Components: Selection of threads, clips, and stabilizers chosen to complement upcycled materials.
