Stitch Up!
Our sewing workshop series where participants learn how to use a sewing machine to create something of their own
We believe that everyone can create with the right tools and guidance.
If you have ever wanted to make something of your own, try your hand at the sewing machine, or are curious about what it is like to work with unconventional materials, our Stitch Up! workshops are for you.
No sewing experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Workshop #1
Handstitching
Create something by handstitching waste materials collected by our communities in Singapore into something practical and useful. A light-lift workshop that can accommodate larger groups.
Workshop #2
Sewing Machine
Learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine by crafting an everyday item from beverage cartons, polymailers, rice bags and other waste materials that are commonly discarded in Singapore. Tailored to smaller groups for targeted learning.
Unlike other workshops, we go beyond the basics of sewing – learning how to use materials like beverage cartons and polymailers as a material forms a core part of Stitch Up! You’ll leave with a new skill, as well as a functional item sewn by you; built to last, made from something you almost threw away.
This is what circularity feels like in practice. You’re not just making something, you’re building the loop.
