Carbon Tax

A price on greenhouse gas emissions, applied to roughly 50 large industrial facilities emitting at least 25,000 tCO2e a year. Started at S$5 per tonne in 2019, rose to S$25 in 2024, and sits at S$45 per tonne for 2026 and 2027, with a target of S$50 to S$80 per tonne by 2030.
