Repair, Don’t Replace!

If donating your items isn't your thing, consider mending and repairing your beloved items to keep them working longer!

Do-It-Yourself!

With the Internet being insanely more resourceful now, you can totally get some mending advice from online platforms like Youtube! There’s a plethora of videos on repairing and mending just about anything. In fact, visible mending has been trending in the textiles community as it both mends and beautifies your clothing.

If you lack the equipment to DIY your fix, you can also head down to some maker/rental spaces that provide the tools that you might need! These are some places for you to consider:

Head to a Mending/Repairing Space

With the motto ‘Love your barang? Fix your barang!’, Repair Kopitiam is held every last Sunday of every month. All you have to do is to bring your electronics, textiles or other sorts of items to the space and have the coaches diagnose the issue with you. If the fix is within their capabilities, they’ll fix the item with you! Alternatively, if it’s a simple enough fix, you can watch their ‘Learn to Repair’ series over here

Support Your Local Repair Shops

From stitching up a tear to fixing a flickering light, there's likely a local repair shop that can help. Support your community and participate in the circular economy by heading down to your neighbourhood to fix your broken watch, your oversized pants or the disintegrating soles on your shoes!

Save money and keep your items in use for longer!
